Community progress

With 117 communities and approximately 7,000 community members to reach and engage with - there’s a lot to do together!

Key milestones involved in each community transition

Build strong community connections

Gather valuable insights on existing power assets and an understanding of the communities’ views on what their energy future looks like.

Complete initial safety inspections and upgrades

Confirm immediate asset priorities so we can maintain a safe and reliable power supply in the short term.

Future energy system planning & endorsement

Designed in partnership with every community as we explore opportunities for community participation in the green energy transition.

Future energy system delivery

Switching to a brighter energy future that delivers on our commitment to improve wellbeing outcomes for all affected remote communities.

Developed strategic partnerships to create new employment opportunities

Working in partnership with the Regional Service Providers (RSPs) - Kimberley Regional Service Provider (KRSP), Pilbara Meta Maya Services (PMM) and Ngaanyatjarra Services (NgS).

Right now, each RSP exceeds the 15% benchmark for Aboriginal employees. They provide training and jobs in various roles - including trade, admin, and community-based Aboriginal Essential Service Officers (AESO).

Alongside the RSPs and North Metropolitan TAFE - we're exploring opportunities to boost Aboriginal employment and training.
